Occupancy rate calculator

Occupancy is the share of nights that were booked. Blocked nights (your own stays, repairs) change the answer, so this shows both versions, plus how many more nights you need for the occupancy you are aiming for. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

Use the same period for every number: one month, a season or a year. A night counts once, however many guests stay.

How it works

Rentable nights = nights in the period − blocked nights. Occupancy (rentable nights) = booked nights ÷ rentable nights. Occupancy (all nights) = booked nights ÷ nights in the period. Nights for target = target % × rentable nights, rounded up to a whole night.

Worked example (the values above, fictional): a 31-night month with 3 nights blocked leaves 28 rentable nights. 19 booked nights is 19 ÷ 28 = 67.9% occupancy on rentable nights, or 19 ÷ 31 = 61.3% on all nights, with 9 rentable nights empty. Hitting 75% needs 75% × 28 = 21 booked nights: 2 more than now.

Occupancy alone does not tell you if a month was good: pair it with your average nightly rate in the RevPAR and ADR calculator. See also all calculators.
